Meet the Author: Stephanie Garber

Stephanie Garber

Stephanie Garber loves Disneyland because it’s the one place on earth where she feels as if the fantastical stories she loves to write about could actually come to life. When she’s not writing young adult fantasy, she teaches creative writing at a private college in northern California, where she’s known for turning assignments into games and taking students on field trips that involve book signings. She’s also a blogger on Pub(lishing) Crawl.

Stephanie’s debut novel, CARAVEL (Macmillan/Flatiron, January 10, 2017) is a Young Adult Fantasy. An original world. A legendary competition. A mesmerizing romance. An unbreakable bond between two sisters. Welcome to Caraval—the spell-casting first book in a fantasy series. Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance, but she nonetheless soon becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with her sister, with Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend, and with the other players.

Fun Facts:

The two or three items Stephanie needs to have with her when she sits down to write: Coffee, Music, Computer

The literary character she would most like to meet: Dumbledore

Her favorite childhood book: Chronicles of Narnia

Hobbies when she’s not writing/reading: Bike riding, baking, adventure-making

The craziest thing she did when she was 17: I’d rather not share that on the internet 😉

If she could travel anywhere in the world, where she would go: Europe! And I don’t think I could narrow down the where—I want to see all the places!
