Breeana Shields graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in English Literature. She lives in the Pacific Northwest where it drizzles, rains or pours nine months of the year, but then transforms into paradise during the other three. She’s willing to make the trade-off.
Breeana’s debut novel, POISON’S KISS (Random House, January 10, 2017) is a Young Adult Fantasy. Marinda has been trained as a *visha kanya* (a “poison maiden”) in the Raja’s service since birth. When she is ordered to kill a boy she has feelings for, she begins to question not only her role but the Raja’s end game.
The two or three items she needs to have with her when she sits down to write: Diet Dr. Pepper, cozy slippers
The literary character she’d most like to meet: Hermione Granger
Her favorite childhood book: THE GREAT BRAIN AT THE ACADEMY
Her hobbies when she’s not writing/reading: Traveling, spending time with family, napping
Her favorite Muppet and why: I have to go with the frog because my husband wooed me when we were dating with a very good Kermit impression, complete with the Rainbow Connection song. (No banjo, though)
The craziest thing she did when she was 17: Left home for college.
If she could travel anywhere in the world, where she’d go: Italy. And I’d eat pasta every single day.
