Meet the Author: Robin Roe

robin-roeRobin Roe has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s from Harvard. She counseled adolescents in Boston before she moved to Dallas to run a mentoring program for at-risk teens.

Her debut novel, A LIST OF CAGES (Disney-Hyperion, January 10, 2017) is a YA Contemporary novel. A LIST OF CAGES—a contemporary YA novel Emma Donoghue, author of Room, calls “remarkably gripping and moving.” When the school psychologist asks 17-year-old Adam Blake to track down the troubled freshman who keeps dodging her, he discovers that the boy is Julian—the foster brother he hasn’t seen in five years. Adam is ecstatic to be reunited but soon realizes Julian is keeping secrets, like where he hides during the middle of the day, and what’s really going on inside his house. Adam is determined to help him, but his involvement could cost both boys their lives.

Fun Facts:

The two or three items she needs to have with her when she sits down to write: My laptop, a green tea, and Burt’s Bees Chapstick. But I need that last one with me at all times.

Her hobbies when she’s not writing/reading: Drawing, watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, traveling, daydreaming about traveling, daydreaming in general . . .

The craziest thing she did when she was 17: Skipped class to study for an important exam. LOL. (But seriously.)

If she could travel anywhere in the world, she’d go: Sperlonga, a costal town in Italy. It looks like a child’s imagination of a city and ocean together in the best way possible.

If she had one superpower it would be: I wish I could teleport so I could travel anywhere, whenever I want.
